Crazy Talented!

Ok, so I know that I am really bragging and many of you are rolling your eyes, but please bear with me.

Our son, Joe, is CRAZY TALENTED!

He is an amazing runner. Not only is he fast, but his running style is very advanced, especially since he has had no training, it just comes naturally.

He is an amazing artist. Lately I have found him sitting in his room quietly drawing, he prefers pencil, not crayons, markers or paints, at his desk. The pictures he draws are very detailed and often show shading within it, I can't even draw shading!

Lately, though, his obsession has been fishing. Go figure, it must run in the family. Grandma and Grandpa are so proud. Not only is he obsessed, but he is good, too. He has cast his line more than 60 feet before. He practiced a lot one weekend with Grandpa in the moutains. They stayed at a cabin and stood outside practicing for hours.

Well, he went up with Grandpa this weekend to see how berry picking season was going to be this year. Apparently, the berries are still not ripened, but it looks like it will be a good season when they do ripen.

On their way home from berry picking Grandpa took Joe fishing at a local fishing pond and caught his first real fish, and it was a big one for a 5 year old! He reeled it in and found that it was a rainbow trout almost 2 lbs and 13 inches long! Can you believe it?

He was so excited to show us all and tell us the story over and over again tonight. Tomorrow we are going to have fish at Grandpa's house for dinner.

Joe is on cloud nine and I am so very proud of him!
