On our way home from Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Dad suggested we go and see the Besh Ba Gowah Indian Ruins...amazing. I love that the site was excavated by a woman!
Living in Arizona I've seen this seen A LOT, but, I've never had the chance to actually ground corn the way ancient Indians have. At the Besh Ba Gowah sight, they give you the opportunity to practice. It was much harder than I thought, and after we walked away, the birds had a feast.
